Photo Op: Malaga Apartment Buildings

Malaga apartments

The city of Malaga, Spain is full of great photo opportunities, from the historic to the modern. One often overlooked photo opportunity takes the form of the apartment buildings where residents live.

Look at the buildings - a mix of modern and old. Unlike the peublos blancos (white villages) in the region north of Malaga, Malaga is much more developed. Cranes dot the skyline. The buildings give a feel for the way of life in Malaga.

Up close pictures of these types of Malaga buildings reveals a variety of architecture styles. Here's a very small sampling:

Photo: Barcelona Pidgeons

Like any city, Barcelona has plenty of pidgeons and they are fun topic for taking pictures.

In this picture, these pidgeons seemed to be gathering for an event on the waterfront. They must know that tourists will come by and throw them food. The local pidgeons come in a variety of colors and patterns. Most are gray. Some are brown and others have white spots.

But pidgeons also hang out in the city. This one found a perfect nook in a Barri Gotic church.

If you are a cat lover, cats can be a fun photography topic while traveling in Spain.

Keep a look-out. Cats can appear in the strangest places in Spain, from historic monuments to parks. In the Alhambra, a famous 'castle' in Granada, Spain, cats where hanging out in the gardens and around some of the old buildings.

Here's 2 friendly cats keeping guard - or are they posing just for me?

Spotlight: The Seville Spain Tapas Scene in 8 Photos

Flickr, a website where users can create photo galleries, is a great place to share your Spain vacation photos.

One user, John Picken, has posted his excellent collection of Seville (Sevilla) photos. The photo set shows many engaging photo angles of the things tourists are likely to see in Seville. I've selected 8 that exemplify the Seville tapas experience.

Tapas are small portions of food served at small tapas bars. The pictures show typical tapas bars in Seville and some common tapas foods. Found throughout Seville and other parts of Spain, tapas bars are about socializing more than eating. It's not uncommon for standing-height tables with or without bar stools to be the only place to eat. Everyone is happy to stand around and chat. >> Read more <<
